Brandon BoyallBrandon Boyall, Director, Boyall Graphics and Print

If you weren't doing this, what would you be doing now?
I enjoy solving technical problems so more than likely I would be a technical specialist of some sort.

How did you get into digital print?

My father established the business 23 years ago. Since then I have gained experience in all departments from artwork to digital screen print - even including the routing of final delivery of products!

Who is your favourite person in digital print, and why?

Jeffery Boyall - my dad taught me all I know and has been a real source of motivation. He has provided a depth of management experience that I have always found to be invaluable. He has always supported our aims to be at the forefront of new technology - what a dad hey!

The greatest myth in this business is ..........?

"The cheapest quote gets the business." Recently we have seen our competitors presenting prices that are not sustainable - in effect trying to buy business. This will never be our approach although we appreciate the need to be competitive when supplying our trade customers.

I wouldn't be where I am today without ......?

The team. We have 21 staff - all long term employees - in fact the last person to leave the business emigrated to Australia and then came back again a few months later! Our employees have a depth of multi print format experience that enables the business to combine technologies such as screen and digital print into one small or wideformat product delivery.

What would make your daily life easier?

Realistic customer expectations. We love our customers but often we find new customers have an unreal expectation as to how much unfunded work we can do fin terms of artwork or prototype production.

What is your greatest achievement to date?

Winning the Coca Cola Enterprises UK refurbishment programme work for their vending machines in the UK. Who would have thought that Coca Cola Enterprises UK would purchase their vending graphics from a family run business in Northampton? .
