Cestrian takes UK’s first HP TJ8550

Cestrian Imaging has bought the UK’s first HP TJ8550 UV large-format printer to provide VDP for point-of-sale work. Directors Phill Reynolds and Paul Whitehurst and were won over by the supplier’s claim that the new machine, printing at speeds of up to 480 m²/hr, will help consolidate its position as one of the UK’s leading retail specialists. They are convinced that the machine’s use of high-intensity inks to produce vibrant high resolution collateral with selective gloss areas, coupled with its ability to print on a wide range of environmentally friendly substrates (including PP and PE), will tick all the boxes for retailers and provide a competitive edge.

Whitehurst explained said: “For our retail clients, speed and turnaround times are critical. They expect the highest possible quality output however late in the day the files arrive, so the TJ8550 seemed ideal for us. Add to that the ease of producing true variable data printing and it makes for a compelling proposition.”

The TJ8550 gives the Cheshire based business a total of 11 large-format presses.
