Enhancements to Digimaster (29.01.08)

Kodak is enhancing its Digimaster EX mono production printer with a system upgrade, plus the ability to handle a wider range of substrates. The upgrade includes new print production software with more automation via JDF job ticket capability, plus the ability to integrate with Kodak’s Prinergy pre-press workflow. There’s also a new job preview manager.

Enhancements in the Kodak Smartboard 5.0 document mastering software add full job ticketing and bi-directional job and print engine status. Smartboard streamlines pre-print workflow to a single point of job submission for both colour and black-and-white digital jobs, with functions including document editing, annotation, imposition, file storage and soft proofing.

The Watkiss SpineMaster accessory is added to the Digimaster EX bookletmaker, to produce booklets with square backs and to print the document’s title or other information on the spine, giving a high quality appearance without the additional cost of perfect binding.
