KAS to Launch New Mailwrap System
at Drupa (13.03.08)
KAS Paper Systems will be demonstrating the ease of operation and quick
change-over of the Mailmaster 465HS and Mailmaster 565HS envelope inserters
on its stand 13B 07. The Mailmaster 465HS inserts into envelope sizes
between DL and over-sized C4 at speeds of up to 6000 completed envelopes
an hour, while the Mailmaster 565HS inserts into envelope sizes up to
C5 at speeds of over 7000 per hour. Additional features include sheet
feeders with accumulation and folding in-line, OMR, BCR or 2D reading
facilities, touch-screen control, management information, in-line stapling.
One of the systems on display will have camera reading technology on
the input and output control integrity.
Also being showcased is the Mailmaster Compact C4 Enveloper, an entry
level DL to C4 system, which not only provides a lower price solution
but its smaller footprint helps to overcome space issues. It is supplied
in a fixed configuration, comprising of a sheet feeder folder, two insert
feeders and a hand feed position, with the possibility of one additional
feeder. It envelopes at speeds up to 5000 an hour, inserting up to 12mm
into a C4 envelope, with a duty cycle of over 500,000 per month.
It has many of the features of the existing Mailmaster 465HS, including
quick changeover between jobs, touch-screen control, folding facility,
feeders that will handle from a single sheet to a 7mm book and optional
OMR or barcode reading.
Drupa will also see the international launch of the The KAS Mailwrap
polywrapper, which has been developed to fill a gap in the market for
printers and direct mail companies to upgrade from lower speed equipment
without having to invest in high speed polywrappers at much greater
cost.
It handles from CD width to over A4 with a maximum speed of 5000 packs
per hour. The Mailwrap has similar feeders to the Mailmaster 465HS range,
giving further flexibility, because it is now possible to purchase systems
where feeders are interchangeable between the polywrapper and envelope
inserter.
Look out also for the new Crease Matic Auto50, a new high speed SRA2
suction fed fully programmable card creaser, which operates at up to
7000 sph. The crease can be programmed anywhere along the length of
the sheet. Up to 28 creases per sheet can be programmed with 99 memories
for regular jobs. Stock can be creased in sizes from CD to SRA2 (max
sheet 500 x 700mm). It is supplied with four creasing width tools to
cover the stock range of 80-350gsm. 3 steel matrix creasing tools are
supplied. Providing different widths of channel to be used according
to the thickness of the document. It has a rotary perforating system
as standard.
KASfold Bookletmakers and ancillary equipment such as a Trimmer and
a Collator conveyor/ jogger interface will be on display including the
KASfold 2000, 3000 and 5000HCS.
