Roland DG's new Versauv LEC-300 inkjet printer/cutter wins Viscom Innovation Award 2008
Roland DG's new VersaUV LEC-300 UV inkjet printer/cutter has won the Viscom Innovation Award in the Digital Printing/Large Format Printing category at Viscom 2008, Frankfurt. The announcement comes hot on the heels of the 30'' machine being named 2008 DPI Product of the Year at the Speciality Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Expo in Atlanta, Georgia, US.
The Viscom jury awarded the VersaUV LEC-300 the accolade because of the roll-to- roll printer's ability to produce innovative relief applications - such as Braille lettering and textured effects - by building up layers of clear gloss.
The VersaUV LEC-300 is the world's first UV inkjet integrated printer/cutter and prints CMYK plus white ink and clear gloss onto a wide range of substrates, including foils, metallic and synthetic papers, BOPP, PE, and PET film.
