SEE PCL3 DIGITAL LABELS PERFORM AT IPEX! (05.04.06)
Following the receipt of HP Indigo and Kodak NexPress seals of approval for the PCL3 Digital label range you can see them, along with other products from Label Connections’ PCL™ labelling range, on various major stands at IPEX.

Polyester ‘cling’ labels from the PCL3 Digital range can be seen in action on the NexPress at the Kodak stand in Hall 5: Stand D70.

For those with musical leanings PCL3 Digital CD labels will be running on the HP Indigo press at the HP stand in Hall 4: Stand A01.

Connoisseurs of fine wines will appreciate the PCL3 Digital Wine Labels being printed at the Danwood stand in Hall 6: Stand B60.

Océ (UK) Ltd in Hall 1: Stand G50, are also working closely with Label Connections to develop labelling solutions for their press users, and will be showing some examples of the quality achieved using the PCL™ labels in combination with Océ print technology.

Label Connections, the Cambridgeshire based digital label manufacturer, has been producing high quality self-adhesive labels for the printing industry for over twelve years. DuPont will show live demos at their stand at PrintCity (Hall 1, stand C20) of the following:

• The DuPont Cromalin Largo2406 and Cromalin Largo4406 digital proofing systems are complete solutions including 24 inch or 44 inch printers, DuPont Cromanet CS, Cromalin Largo expanded gamut pigment ink, speciality media and DuPont award winning service and support.

• The DuPont Cromalin blue digital proofing system family. An upgraded version of the DuPont drum based proprietary digital proofing printer featuring an inline robotic spectrophotometer, DuPont inks, media, and Cromanet.

• The Cromanet CS colour management and workflow software. An all new Windows 2000/XP software suite for managing colour and digital workflow across proofing and digital printing applications, featuring multi printer support, spectral based calibration and custom profiling, enhanced spot colour functionality, Adobe® RIP, and professional colour editing and job tools.

The DuPont Cromalin Largo is a true “plug and play” solution which, incorporated into print production workflows, can improve approval cycles, turnaround times and proof-to-press accuracy. This is a perfect addition to the current high-end DuPont Cromalin drum based digital proofing systems, which continue to provide highest possible colour accuracy and are the proofing systems with an integrated in-line spectrophotometer.
The new Cromalin Largo uses the latest drop-on-demand inkjet (DOD) technology with roll-fed proofing substrates. The DuPont pigment inks, DuPont paper and output sizes have been tuned specifically to the needs of the graphic arts industry. Two Cromalin Largo versions are available with a 24” width for 4-up proofing and 44” width for 8-up signatures or wide format graphics.

Designed to be a truly high-end machine, the DuPont Cromalin blue utilizes a new generation print head which enables 1500 dpi optical resolution output at a speed of 12 minutes for B2 format or 7 minutes for B3 format. As with the entire family of DuPont proofing solutions, Cromalin blue consists exclusively of DuPont-designed components (engine, inks, paper and colour management) to ensure full compatibility, consistency and image stability in a turn-key proofing solution. In addition, the system benefits from the industry-recognized DuPont service and support organization.

All systems include the DuPont award winning Cromanet RIP and colour management software. The total package has been designed specifically to address the needs of the proofing market, where repeatable quality is paramount and non-negotiable, but which is nevertheless experiencing the industry-wide pressures to reduce costs and production time.

The bizhub PRO C6500 is highly suitable for heavy-duty production, capable of handling up to 200,000 A4 sheets per month and has an output capacity of up to 3,900 pages per hour (65 pages per minute) in both full colour and black and white. Able to cope with media weights up to 300 g/m2, the bizhub PRO C6500 provides a full and flexible range of printing choices and is equally capable of printing on paper, card, or coated stock.

The bizhub PRO C6500 builds on the success of the existing bizhub PRO 1050, and supports the same extensive finishing options. It can be configured according to the needs of nearly any business to produce a wide variety of output such as brochures, promotional materials or any kind of document. To give companies even more choice, the bizhub PRO C6500 is available with Creo print on-demand solutions as well as Fiery professional controllers, and is also available as a printer only model.

The operating system is common across the other devices in the bizhub range. The large full colour display panel has an intuitive arrangement to allow access to all functions clearly and easily. The system comes with Konica Minolta’s new generation polymerised toner Simitri-HD (high definition) which delivers superior image quality with excellent colour reproduction as well as impressive black density. Consumption of Simitri-HD is also significantly lower than conventional toner, so savings can be made through replacing consumables less frequently.

The bizhub PRO C6500 will have its first world-wide public appearance on at IPEX, hall 4, booth B41 along with all other bizhub PRO systems.
