Gerber Scientific Products has introduced Omega 5.0, which Dana Goodale, director of software solutions, has described as “chock-full of time-saving features”.
Omega is suite of layout, design, output and conversion tools created specifically for use in the sign industry. The tools integrate layout and design with vinyl cutting, printing, and routing on sign industry production devices such as Gerber Edge printers, vinyl cutters, routers and flatbed cutters.
Omega 5.0 includes the following:
- More accurate and improved raster-to-vector conversions;
- Automatic weed sectioning
- Object nesting in the Composer design program for waste reduction
- Pre-flight registration tools
- Faster Composer selection/redraw
- Automatic print-to-cut alignment between Gerber Edge and Envision 37
