Viscom tackles large format sustainability with Eco Future development

A novelty at Viscom Frankfurt 2012 will be a special exhibition area called Eco Future that was initiated by a cooperation between the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication, Technology and Design, rgf and the Media Mundo Initiative. The intention is to present opportunities and perspectives for economically as well as ecologically and socially responsible large-format media production.

This part of the show, will be a combination of presentations by exhibitors, best practices and live talks, will focus on environmental issues:  Which materials and print media are particularly environmentally friendly? How can the production of print media use resources efficiently? What measures can minimise emissions generated by media production? How big is the CO2 footprint of products and production? How can materials be recycled?

As sustainability cannot be limited to ecological considerations, two other aspects are also catered for at the special exhibition: economic and social perspectives. A primary focus will be on defining sustainable products which offer added value to both producers and consumers.

In 2012 Viscom, which alternates between Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, will be held in Frankfurt from 25 to 27 October.
