Tomorrow (Friday) sees Press On Digital Imaging take delivery of a new Kongsberg i XP24 digital cutting table, which managing directors Andy Wilson and Nigel Webster say will revolutionise its existing large-format digital print and finishing business.
“Purchasing the new Kongsberg i XP 24 marks an exciting new era for Press On. Increasingly our existing signage and POP customers are demanding a wide range of materials and innovative finishing solutions. Meeting this demand led us to the phenomenal Kongsberg i XP 24 from Esko. We will now be tackling these complex jobs and then we’ll be encouraging our current and new customers to push their creativity even further as this machine is just so versatile,” said Wilson.
Webster added: “The Kongsberg i XP 24 will enable us to improve our current finishing offering and work on an astonishing range of materials accurately and quickly. Twin this with our high quality large-format digital print at Press On and we are in a position to offer our customers some truly powerful solutions for their projects. We are also venturing into new markets with the high power Kongsberg router.”
Having investigated a range of digital cutting tables, Press On chose the Kongsberg for its versatility and accurate handling of a wide range of materials. The new Kongsberg will be cutting; corrugated board, solid board, foam, MDF, wood, styrene, vinyl, Plexiglas, polypropylene and aluminium. Accuracy and versatility comes from a wide range of tools they have purchased including i-cut camera technology ensuring prefect registration when cutting complex printed graphics
Press On has also bought one of the high-speed milling tools first showcased at Drupa this year. Wilson said: “Changing tools is fast and easy for the team, which is really important to us at Press On. We want our guys to work in the best environment possible. It’s also really quiet when operating which makes for a happier, safer workplace.”
