Landor UK is bringing out a Wallpaper Matte Protective Coating specifically developed for use with digital wall coverings, including the self-adhesive fabric Landor Phototex.
Peter Davidson, business and commercial director at Landor UK, said: “There is a lot of enthusiasm in the market for inkjet printed digital wall coverings and although a large majority of the inks used in the process are UV robust a lot of users require improved abrasion and water resistance. The development of Landor Wallpaper Matte Coating is the solution to this requirement plus, it can enhance the overall appearance of the print without compromising the wall covering texture or colours.”
He added: “We initially developed a combination of Marabu Clearshield liquid coatings for use with our Landor Phototex self-adhesive wall coverings however, once we got the project underway, it was clear that the demand from alternative manufacturers and suppliers was much larger than we appreciated so we adjusted the formulation making it a universal product.
