Mimaki JV400-SUV makes commercial debut at Fespa 2013

The JV400-SUV printer first shown by Mimaki in prototype form at Fespa 2012 will ship from 1 July. It will get its proper commercial introduction at Fespa 2013.

Mike Horsten, general manager marketing, Mimaki EMEA, said: “We are excited to introduce this new member in our portfolio at Fespa 2013. The JV400-SUV uses solvent-UV curable inks and delivers very high quality output with vibrant colours and excellent outdoor durability.”

The JV400-130/160SUV prints in four colours (CMYK) - using Mimaki inks developed specifically for this printer - at speeds of up to 18m2/hr in draft mode. In the printing process, the solvent component is absorbed by the ink-receiving layer of the substrate and the pigment is settled on to the media. The printed ink is then cured with a UV light process. Prints exit the printer completely dry.

At Fespa 2013 Mimaki will also be showing its RasterLink6 Rip with the JV400-SUV (as well as with other printers being demonstrated at the show). The RasterLink6 Rip offers an intuitive single-window approach for selection of all options and converts special colours to Pantone colours and CMYK matching. Users can measure a target colour with an optional colorimeter and use RasterLink6’s Colour Picker System to reproduce them.
