Lightbar UV print conversion solution launches

Colorific Solutions will officially launch its Lightbar UV print conversion solution at Fespa 2013. It enables printers with wide-format solvent machines that use Epson Piezo DX4 and DX5 printheads to turn them into UV systems.

The Lightbar UV print conversion solution comprises an external, stand-alone lamp kit which fixes to the front of any compatible wide-format printer. During the printing process, the pigment is fixed to the ink-receiving layer on the media and then a secondary cure – using the new system – fixes the droplet and provides an immediate cure and cross link on the media.

Shaun Holdom, business development director, at Colorific Solutions, said: “Fespa is the perfect opportunity to officially launch our Lightbar solution to the wider international audience. We previewed the solution to UK customers at Sign and Digital UK 2013 and to date around 20 of our international partners have orders for the Lightbar.”

Colorific Solutions will start shipping retro-fit Lightbar units globally from July 2013.  Pricing for the standalone retro-fit conversion kit starts at £2,550. In addition to the retro-fit option, UK customers will also be able to order a finished solution comprising the Lightbar unit mounted on a Roland RE640 wide-format printer for under £15,000.
