EFI continues acquisition run with another MIS developer

EFI is continuing its acquisition run with the buyout of Lector Computersysteme, a German-language MIS developer based in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Lector’s employees have joined EFI and will report to Sean Whelan, director of EMEA-region operations in EFI’s Productivity Software business.

“Germany has always been one of the world’s largest printing industry markets, so we are pleased to have Lector Computersysteme join EFI,” said Marc Olin, EFI’s interim CFO and senior vice president and general manager of the company’s Productivity Software business.

Lector’s MIS products will become part of the EFI Productivity Software family of products. Lector’s technology will also be integrated with EFI wide-format and EFI Vutek superwide format inkjet printers, as well as with EFI Fiery, the digital front end platform for Xerox, Canon, Ricoh and Konica Minolta printers and copiers. EFI will also continue to support the existing Lector client base, which consists of approximately 1,000 customers.
