It’s full throttle for Rocket expansion

Hertfordshire-based print company Rocket has brought forward its 2014 expansion plans having secured contracts that have increased its turnover by 25% this year.

Rocket MD Tim Porter, said: “Much of our work has to be completed in very tight timescales and it’s through continued investment in staff and technology that we’re able to meet and exceed our clients’ requirements. As well as the investment in our 3.2m-wide QS printer this summer, we’re now also looking at an additional 3.2m QS printer, a Mimaki printer and a dedicated cutter to run with this machine, and we’re currently negotiating a further 5,000sq. ft. of factory space to accommodate these enhancements.”

Earlier this year, Rocket hired four new staff. Its expansion drive will include taking on more new staff and it is currently and interviewing for a number of production and account handling roles.

Porter added: “The future for Rocket is looking very bright, and with additional high-end print technologies we can see more opportunities to increase output and scope throughout the events sector, as well as building a greater presence in the retail industry.

“Surprisingly, our most challenging area isn’t going to be about finding the work – it’s about how we manage the growth across all parts of our business, and that’s something that we are all very much looking forward to embracing.”
