Screentec buys DYSS X7

Welsh printer Screentec has bought an 8 x 4ft DYSS X7-1325C digital cutter and associated Kasemake software to service its two Canon Océ Arizona flatbed printers. The new cutter, supplied by AG/CAD along with the new software, will enable Screentec to bring the cutting of various media in-house as it expands its wide-format focus.

Screentec’s managing director, Darren James, said: “Our focus is always on quality and the DYSS stood out in terms of engineering, robustness and performance, with a range of tools to give us the superior finish Screentec is synonymous with. But the real clincher was AG/CAD’s brilliant Kasemaker software which takes us to another level in terms of what we can offer to our existing and potential customers.”

Trading now for over 16 years, with a 28-strong workforce and £1.3m turnover, Screentec is growing apace and sees wide-format as a particularly strong area of expansion. Combining its traditional screen-print and die-cutting with wide-format digital print and digital cutting means smaller bespoke jobs as well as larger runs will now not only be possible, but also rapid and profitable.

James added: “The DYSS will be a game changer for us. We are already winning business for it before it has even finished being installed. We see this cutter and software opening up new and diverse markets for us.”
