Callprint unveils plans for Birmingham expansion

Callprint is expanding its Birmingham-based Midlands hub, which will see the company move to a new city centre location, double the size of its current base.

The Birmingham facility, currently situated in a 557m2 space on Smallbrook Queensway, will move its base to a site close to the Aston Expressway and M6 motorway, and take up residence in a 1115m2 new facility with effect from May this year.

This will provide the Birmingham operation with the ability to display on-site, all of its

large-format signage, point-of-display and exhibition installation and small-format litho offerings. Exhibition and installation work will also now be able to be constructed on-site, prior to despatch.

The new facility will also operate as the print and distribution hub for all online sales from Callprint's new e-commerce site, which is set to launch soon.

In addition, the expansion will allow the Birmingham hub to also offer vehicle signage and wrap work, with customers being able to drive into the space and have vehicles wrapped or liveried on site.

The new site will include a 185m2 meeting area, enabling customers and clients to come in and view jobs on site if required, and will provide a 930m2 industrial print area. As part of the development plans, investment in new equipment will also happen, with a second Arizona UV flatbed printer due to come in once the new site is up and running.

Callprint Birmingham’s sales director, Fabian Porter, said: “We had to move as we have currently outgrown our present base. This new site will enable us to expand our offerings considerably, and allows customers to come in and see their jobs being created on site. This will provide clients with the confidence that their work is being processed and handled correctly.”

He added, “From design to installation, we will now be able to offer the whole procedure in-house from our new facility.”

The move will also see the Birmingham facility switch from a double-day shift to 24 hour operation, and provide opportunities for new personnel.
