Precision Printing website wins ecommerce award

Precision Printing’s ‘WhereTheTradeBuys’ website has scooped the top prize in the best B2B e-business project category of the 2015 Big Chip Awards. The e-commerce platform, launched in 2010, sells digital (including large-format) and litho printed products. Judges said it “does just what it says on the tin, providing cost-effective online buying for UK businesses”.

‘WhereTheTradeBuys’ has its roots in Sunderland-based large-format PSP First2Print, in which Barking-based Precision Printing took a controlling stake towards the end of 2014. Since then First2Print has been rebranded as Precision Printing (North) but has remained under the managing directorship of Martyn Young, who has led the ‘WhereTheTradeBuy’s project from the outset and has seen three digit growth year on year.

“It’s incredibly important to consider the visitor’s mindset and goal so I looked at how I would want to buy print and thought why don’t we just do what people want, which basically is a great user experience. With ‘WhereTheTradeBuys’ this is exactly what you get - three easy steps and you’re checked out and the order’s in production,” said Young.

“Leading from the front with print technology has been challenging, but becoming part of Precision Printing Group has helped accelerate the growth with new investment in cutting edge technology. This gives our clients some of the best print technology at their fingertips and this will be embraced further with the launch of V2 website in the late summer.

“We want our clients to be able to procure print with ease 24 hours a day and be confident that they are buying purchasing from within the UK and the majority of products dispatched in 24 hours.”
