Cadlink brings out UV Edition of Digital Factory Rip

A UV printing version of Digital Factory Rip software is now available from Cadlink Technology. The UV Edition, which currently supports Mutoh, Mimaki and Roland printers as well a selection of third-party custom printers, includes the following key features:

- Automated underbase features including support for .pdf and .eps workflows.

- Advanced colour management including handling of white ink as well as clear coat ink application.

- Specialised production plug-ins directly within the Rip.

- Automated black background ‘knock-out’ feature that blends black artwork components into black substrates, increasing print quality while reducing white ink consumption.

- Supports both bitmap as well as vector files.

- Print directly from any design application, or drag and drop files to Digital Factory queues without having to prepare underbase layers.

“UV digital printing has introduced new complexities to job preparation and production”, said David Evans, Cadlink director of R&D. “The common use of white as well as clear inks within day to day production workflows requires that print files are prepared in such a manner that correctly and efficiently address how, when and where white or clear inks are applied to a particular job. Digital Factory UV Edition addresses these issues and simplifies the UV print production workflow”.
