Simpson Group team goes to aid of charities

The Simpson Group is taking part in a number of events in the hope of raising over £3,000 for three charities: Motor Neurone Diseases Association, the Alzheimer’s Society, and The Great North Air Ambulance.

In collaboration with the Motor Neurone Disease Association, members of the team will first take part in the All-out Extreme X mud run, made up of over 20 purpose built obstacles. They’ll then participate in the Lake District Midnight climb of Skiddaw - the fourth highest mountain in England – on 19 June, to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Mark Simpson, chairman of Simpson Group and event participant said: “My father sadly passed away seven years ago after a long battle with dementia at the age of 72. He was an intelligent and energetic man who founded Simpson Group, and laid the foundations for the company it is today. I personally have a lot to thank him for. The business he left has a positive impact on many families in our community. This is his legacy.”

Finally, the team will take part in The Great North run to raise funds for The Great North Air Ambulance. It follows the loss of a colleague who had worked at Simpson Group since 1982 and whom the ‘Air Angels’ had helped.
