PressOn to print new Woolly Wallpapers

Chatham-based PressOn is ramping up its push into the bespoke interior decor print market with the launch of ‘Woolly Wallpapers’ in conjunction with Detta Textiles and Robin Sprong Wallpapers.

The range of woollen/knitted-look wallcoverings has been designed by Berni Raeside-Bell, founder of Detta Textiles. She in turn has collaborated with Robin Sprong Wallpapers to launch and distribute the new collection, which will be printed in the UK exclusively by PressOn. Elements of each of the designs in the range – aimed at high-end residential clients and commercial interior design and architects - can be customised and adapted to a client’s bespoke requirements. Prices start at £30m2.

Raeside-Bell said of the launch: “The Woolly Wallpapers were designed with digital textile and digital wallpaper printing in mind so I’m pleased we’re working with PressOn on this. The designs are based on my actual stitch structures produced on traditional framework knitting machines and then turned into repeat patterns for digital print. I wanted to create a series of 'knit-look' designs that could only be produced digitally to achieve the desired effect. Robin Sprong and PressOn appealed to me because of their understanding of digital printing techniques and their spearheading innovation in design for digital print.”

Nigel Webster, co-founding MD of PressOn added: “This is the first range in the Robin Sprong Wallpaper Collection from a British based designer and further strengthens our position in the bespoke digital print for interiors market. We’ll be producing the bespoke Detta range on our trusted HP LX3500 as its technical excellence in maintaining colour consistency and its built in spectrophotometer enable us to ensure perfect digital print, essential when creating wallpaper and large-format wall murals.”
