Epson partnerships help push the boundaries of digital print

London Fashion Week will today (Monday 20th February) see a 30-piece collection by fashion designer John Herrera that has been digitally printed using Epson’s textile dye-sublimation printers.

Herrera, based in Manila, Philippines, was winner of the London Emerging Designers (LED) Awards in 2015 and is a contender for this year’s Britain’s Top Designer. He works closely with Epson in the Philippines and is at the forefront of using digital textile printing.

“The collection I will be presenting would be impossible to create without the Epson digital textile printer,” said Herrera. “Without them I would have had to paint the designs myself and, with only a month to prepare, it could not have been done”.

Meanwhile, as part of its educational and local community initiatives, Epson is working with B-TEC students at Longdean School in Hemel Hempstead to explore the potential of wide-format printing to develop a vibrant car wrap design.

The winning artwork will be printed - by Slam Signs - on a SureColor SC-S80600 and applied to a Toyota Aygo, which will appear to be bursting through a wall on Epson’s Sign and Digital UK exhibition stand.
