Sample Print, Canon’s Web-based large-format print sample service, now includes new images from commercial and landscape photographer  Keith Cooper, of Northlight Images. Rob Andrews of Sample Print said: “We were looking for some strong architectural images as well as some interesting black and whites which Keith has been able to provide for us.”

Leeds-based large format display company Digital Plus is near completing the task of printing and fitting internal graphics and signage for npower’s new office in the north east. The contract, which started in January this year and is now close to completion, rolls out new branding marking the energy company’s tenth anniversary. Digital Plus’ Océ Arizona 350 GT flatbed was used to print most of the work, supported by the company’s Roland six-colour solvent roll printer.

Océ has now shipped 2,000 Océ Arizona UV flatbed printers. The first system in this series – the Océ Arizona 250 GT printer – was launched in September 2006. It won the Vision Award, given to a manufacturer whose new product has the best chance of positively impacting the digital imaging industry. There are now five models in the range.

EskoArtwork adds full automation with its Kongsberg XP Auto cutting solution

A new version of the XP cutting table has been announced by EskoArtwork. Designated the XP Auto, it incorporates automatic loading and unloading and is designed to complement wide-format digital printers, enabling a full digital production workflow for point-of-sale displays and short-run packaging work. First deliveries are scheduled for Q4 2010. Existing XP installations can be upgraded on-site to the new XP Auto configuration.

October will see the first commercial availability of PitStop Pro 10, a major upgrade to Enfocus’s PDF editing and preflighting application. This latest version offers improved colour management and expanded collaborative working tools. Also, for users in a collaborative working environment with multiple copies of PitStop Pro 10, new PitStop Workgroup Manager allows central management and standardisation of preflight settings, Action Lists, Workspaces etc. This is available with Floating Licenses, where copies of PitStop Pro can be installed on any number of terminals within a local area network, but only a certain number can be used simultaneously.
