Walki Group, a producer of technical laminates and protective packaging materials has introduced the WalkiPrint Media XXL range of ‘green’ printing and imaging solutions for front-lit and back-lit applications. It said the move comes “at a time when the OOH sector is steadily moving away from using chemically treated, moisture-resistant blueback papers and PVC-scrim for printed banners and displays. Growing awareness of the hazards that PVC poses to the environment and in particular, the difficulties faced in its disposal, has created a need for more eco-friendly products.”

Inspirational Culzean Castle signage job completed
A three-month project to overhaul the experiential signage around the National Trust for Scotland’s Culzean Castle has been completed, with Leach Inspire delivering the 147-sign installation on time and within budget. The work was part of a £2.5m investment in visitor facilities by the Trust, Scotland’s largest conservation charity.

GEW makes key appointment

MIS set to save PSP six months in estimating time
Clydebank, Scotland-based public transport graphics specialist Smart Graphics has signed up for a Tharstern MIS system that is expected to save at least six months in estimating time each year. Training started at the end of June and the system is expected to go fully live in the autumn.

3M showcases vehicle wrap possibilities at Goodwood
3M is using the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2017 to show-off its newest vehicle wrap products. Three of its authorised vehicle wrappers are at the event - which started on Thursday and ends tomorrow - transforming vehicles including a BMW i8, British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) car, and an Audi S1. The new Print Wrap Film IJ180mC from 3M is being used for printed collages of winners from the 3M Wrap of the Month competitions.
