GEW has a new director of international sales. Marcus Greenbrook takes up the position at the company, which makes UV systems for printing and converting machines. He will be responsible for contributing to GEW’s overall strategy and will oversee worldwide sales, strategic business partnerships and marketing, reporting to MD Malcolm Rae.

Textile and fashion designer Richard Quinn has launched the Richard Quinn Print Studio, a textile print operation offering Epson dye sublimation and traditional screen printing services and workshops.

Gerard Heanue, managing director of Heidelberg UK, has been elected as the new chairman of Picon, the confederation supporting UK printing industry manufacturers and suppliers. He succeeds Robert Flather, managing director of Kolbus UK.

3M is using the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2017 to show-off its newest vehicle wrap products. Three of its authorised vehicle wrappers are at the event - which started on Thursday and ends tomorrow - transforming vehicles including a BMW i8, British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) car, and an Audi S1. The new Print Wrap Film IJ180mC from 3M is being used for printed collages of winners from the 3M Wrap of the Month competitions.

The newly released Onyx 12.2 wide-format print workflow and Rip software features improved Rip and data transfer processing speeds, new multi-roll functionality, job scaling and rotation, and cut workflow enhancements according to its manufacturer.

Displayways has invested another £500,000 in new kit and is extending its administrative space at its site in Earlsfield, London. The move follows an expansion of the company’s managerial team over the last few months, and the introduction of a new business operation - Displayways Visual Communications (DVC).

Fespa UK Association is to run a textile print conference on 21 November in Huddersfield. Supported by Fespa’s Profit-for-Purpose programme, it will examine textile printing, coating and surface modification techniques - both analogue and digital - and introduce business-improving initiatives.
