Case study from Soyang

Glasgow-based graphics, signage, design, and install business Novograf recently used Soyang Bild Ceramic vinyl from Soyang Europe to complete a series of innovative and eye-catching printed surface projects.

Novograf offers a wide range of services but specialises in commercial fit-outs and surface solutions, working with customers across various markets to transform all kinds of environments through the power of print. As a long-term customer of Soyang Europe, Novograf has used a host of products from the supplier to complete surface-based applications over the past three years.

Two recent projects that have caught the eye were both printed on Soyang Bild vinyl. This clear multi-purpose material can be used for a wide variety of applications such as retail/POP, floor mats, countertop mats, pole wraps, trade show booths, anti-fatigue mats, temporary wall graphics and much more.

For the first project, Novograf produced graphics, custom surfaces and flooring applications for pet store chain Pets at Home, helping transform the look of their shops in locations across the UK. The ongoing relationship includes the supply of floor graphics which have innovative anti-slip features to ensure the safety of customers and staff alike.

These floor graphics are created in a range of sizes and supplied in sections to allow for easy installation in Pets at Home stores. Strong bonding adhesive ensures the graphics remain in place, while the hard-wearing quality of Soyang Bild means the graphics will withstand heavy footfall and retain their sharp printed quality.

“We have a long-standing relationship with Pets at Home, working with them across all of their UK stores to produce everything from graphics and custom surface solutions to the flooring you see throughout the stores,” said Ross Campbell, Digital Business Development Manager at Novograf.

The second project saw Novograf deploy Soyang Bild Ceramic vinyl to showcase its production capabilities at the Surface Design Show, with the aim of expanding its reach into the architect and designer market.

Novograf used the Soyang Europe product to create a custom wood and tile floor with a printed graphic – featuring mosaic tiles and fish – giving the impression of a pool running through the floor. This was installed on its stand ready for the event in February and demonstrated the company’s excellent attention to detail and the durability of the flooring.

“The way we were able to print on the floor to give depth of design and detail was a showstopper for attendees,” Ross said. “The graphics were well received by every person who saw them.”
