Case study from Fujifilm

With a need to boost flatbed capacity in its factory, Resource Digital Graphics decided to compare printers from its existing supplier with a range of competitors over the course of a year. After a rigorous selection process, Fujifilm’s Acuity Select HS came out on top.
Founded by brothers Lance and Darren Britnell in 2011, Resource Digital Graphics specialises in producing a huge range of complex, high-quality wide format jobs with fast turnaround times. “Darren and I both had nearly 30 years’ experience in the industry when we set the company up,” says company co-founder Lance. “Between the two of us we spotted a gap in the market and decided that our joint experience made us well-placed to meet that market need. Since then, we’ve grown rapidly, and over the years we’ve continually made every effort to invest in the very latest technology to deliver the best for our clients. “We print a wide range of products, from digitally printed self-adhesive films, to wall coverings, window graphics, banners and display panels. We print to just about anything: foamex and correx panels, clear films, magnetic sheets and plywood, to name a few. Our clients range from local businesses in Buckinghamshire to national chains and brands. “When the time to add a new flatbed press to our portfolio began to approach, we carefully considered all our options, with the clear end goal that we wanted a machine with double the throughput and no downturn in quality. “Over the course of a year we attended a range of demonstrations by multiple suppliers and ultimately our investment in Fujifilm’s Acuity flatbed was actually a relatively easy decision. Not only was the demonstration of the Acuity Select HS very impressive, the staff were also helpful and attentive from the very first phone call and Fujifilm was able to offer us an even better financial deal than our previous supplier. “The machine was eventually installed in July 2017 and we’re now printing 27m2 per hour on it (compared with 15m2 per hour on our existing platform) with no downturn in quality. We’re very close indeed to the doubling of throughput we were aiming for and coupled with Fujifilm’s support and expertise, we’re delighted with the investment decision we’ve made. “We’re a forward thinking company, always looking for where and how to grow our business next,” Lance concludes. “So we’re delighted to have a company like Fujifilm as a partner. They’re fully invested in our success as a business and are doing everything they can to help us get the very best out of our machine.” Says Chris Broadhurst, General Manager, Fujifilm Graphic Systems UK. “We’re delighted that Resource Digital Graphics has selected Fujifilm as its partner to grow its business. Fujifilm’s expertise in inkjet technology and excellent record in service and support has proved a winning combination and we look forward to seeing what the future of this partnership might bring.”
