Case Study from Very Displays

We’ve come a long way in the last 18 months. We’ve grown from a five strong team to over 35, taken on more containers than we have room for leaving us looking for a bigger and better premises and we’ve almost doubled our product range. There’s never a dull moment running a start-up business and the fast-paced culture of the displays industry makes it even more exciting. In a very saturated market it’s essential to have an edge and a long list of product USPs to survive and that’s exactly what we set out to do.
Earlier this year we took to the streets of China to increase our product offering and seek out the best suppliers. It was here we found our edge… Andrew Burdett, MD, Gary Parker, Design Engineer and Mahesh Patel, Purchaser and Forecaster. Together they’re an unstoppable trio and are what we now call our Product Development team. With them we can (and have) designed our very own display products exclusive for Very Displays. Why do we want to offer exclusive products you ask? Our MD, Andrew Burdett, has something to say about that. “In my experience innovation leads to greater long-term, commercial success. Day-to-day consumer products are important to any company but everybody is doing more or less the same thing with the same products. So we should be looking to supply new, innovative products to help keep the industry on its toes. We also thrive on delivering exceptional service, speed and consistency and we’ll always go above and beyond to make life that little bit easier for our clients.” So a bit about our PD team… Andrew Burdett has over 25 years’ experience starting and growing display companies from the ground up and seeing them into fruition. Gary Parker has over 18 years’ experience under his belt designing and perfecting portable display products for a major displays company. Combined with Mahesh Patel who has over 23 years’ experience sourcing and purchasing internationally. Andrew and Gary have a world of experience (literally, all over the world) in this industry, designing top products that have sold in their millions. Following their trip to China, Very Displays has since teamed up with other design talents from across the pond to really step up our R&D and PD game. We now directly employ our own engineering and logistics specialists in China helping us measure and improve the quality and consistency of our products whilst we push the limits of what can be achieved. As we see it, there are virtually no limits if you live and breathe it every day. The exciting part about innovating and designing products is looking at what we can print on and with. How we can make our products more visually appealing whether that be the tight fitting of a tube graphic or the striking shape of a rigid substrate. We’re constantly finding new ways to combine hardware and print by experimenting with existing and new materials, and ensuring our clients have the capability to offer these to their own customer base. Very Displays currently offer exclusive designs of roller banners, tension banners, pop-ups, tube systems, flags, outdoor products, profile extrusions, LED lighting and cases (which we produce right here on-site!). We’re exhibiting at The Print Show 2018, 18th - 20th September. Visit us on stand F21 to see what new developments we’re working on.
