Over to you...Steve White, MD, SAS Graphics

What’s having the greatest impact on your business at the moment?

The pace of change in both printing techniques and materials. We do a lot of digital wall coverings and glazing films for offices and it feels as if the range of materials to choose from has expanded greatly in the last year. While this has an upside it can lead to clients being overloaded with options and unable to make a decision.

Where do you see the greatest wide-format opportunities?

Direct-to-media printing enables us to now produce very high quality work quickly at a relatively low cost. Our new Fuji machine is so fast and good that we see great opportunities to get new clients in both the trade and end users.

What would make your day-to-day operations easier?

Being based in Brighton with most of our clients in London I would like Southern Trains to start running a reliable service to London, or a motorway flyover from the M23 into central London!

Your favourite bit of kit is..?

It’s usually the latest purchase - at the moment its the Fuji Acuity flatbed.

What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given?

There is no luck in business – it’s about hard work and doing everything properly.

What are you most proud of achieving?

Being awarded the contract to handle the complete rebrand for ITV in 2013. For a small company we work with some very big clients and it was hard work that got us here.

What lesson does the wide-format sector need to learn?

Suppliers should listen to we their customers. We have to work with their products every day and when they don’t work they need to hear what we say.
