What’s having the greatest impact on your business at the moment?
There does seem to be a general upturn in business across the board - tongue-in-cheek there is not so much competition around.
Where do you see the greatest wide-format opportunities?
As prices drop the independent retail sector begins to bite more.
What would make your day-to-day operations easier?
A really good internal, totally integrated IT management system at a price we could afford - an off the shelf accounts package with real order processing and tracking.
Your favourite bit of kit is..?
The Oce ColorWave 300. We do a lot of plan printing. Until recently nearly always B/W, that is changing, rapidly and the ColorWave fits the bill nicely.
What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given?
To never be knowingly undersold - understand that and you won't go wrong. Perhaps we could also add ‘don't spend what you don't have’!
What are you most proud of achieving?
A small but successful business and a lot of friends.
What lesson does the wide-format sector need to learn?
You sell your customer a solution - not a banner. Try to add value to every sale.
