Ashley House takes on its first private interiors job

Ashley House Printing Company is Exeter is responsible for delivering three key interior décor elements for exclusive new-build Sanctuary House in Devon. “This was our first private interior design project and is something we would certainly be keen to do again,” said MD Rob Otton. “The building’s architect was ‘blown away’ by the designs and they are now looking to work with us to create similar graphic installations for future projects.”
The owner of the property, a keen amateur photographer and art collector, approached Otton to deliver interiors works that that would reflect these passions. Using scans of original artwork, the company’s design team adapted the images to create large wall graphics that were applied to Linvisible doors and surrounding wall areas to create contemporary art features. For the majority of doors, Antalis’ Coala 2D Gloss laminate was four-colour printed before being laminated with Coala 2D matt laminate. For another feature door Coala 2D Gloss White vinyl was four-colour printed before also being laminated with Coala 2D matt laminate. For the main entrance and stairwell of the house, inspiration came from the owner’s nature reserve photographs, with elements from different photos used to create a large frieze - an effect was achieved by digitally cutting Coala Silky Wallcover Textile to create a relief image. The job has been entered into the Antalis Interior Design Awards (closing date 31 January), and Sanctuary House is also in the running for a number of architectural awards.
