Banner Box continues to invest

Banner Box Print Solutions - which recently acquired Bullitt Display Solutions - has announced further investment. The company has upgraded its Mimaki printers and invested in a CNC router.

Banner Box, a long time user of Mimaki equipment, has upgraded its machines to include a JFX200-2513 EX flatbed and UJV55-320 3.2m wide roll-to-roll printers, supplied via CMYUK.

Director, Ryan Shelton said of the kit investment: “Over the years we have established a reputation for Banner Box across all areas of signage and wide-format digital print. We have a very experienced team specialising in rigid printing, and we have significantly invested in new equipment allowing us to offer an even better service.”

“Our old machines were excellent quality but they were getting tired, running slow and we were working longer hours because of it. They had many miles on the clock so we needed to upgrade. We were also getting more enquiries for 3m wide banners, which is why we opted for the wider 3.2m roll printer,” said Shelton.

He added: “The new Mimaki flatbed is just brilliant. It’s so fast. I’ve been printing 50mm thick scrap pieces of wood on it not for any other reason but to prove that it can print on anything at speed. Mimaki printers are easy to work with. The print quality and the colours are fantastic.”

The new printers will allow the company to actively pursue opportunities in potential new market areas and will enable the company to fine-tune its service. “We’re just able to be more efficient, react quicker to last minute and urgent requests. We’ve always offered our customers an excellent service, but with these our latest Mimakis we can actually improve on what we’ve done before,” Shelton said.

Banner Box has navigated through the lockdowns, adapting to the demands of the Covid-19 pandemic by outputting safety signage and PPE equipment at volume.  Not only has it retained all 15 staff, but it has grown its team and is quietly confident about future prospects.

“There’s no doubt it’s been stressful,” said Shelton, “but as we move through this year, our strategy is to continue to expand on what we currently offer. We’re very excited by all the eco products on offer like PVC-free Kavalan banner range but we’re also looking at green solutions for rigid closely too. We’re already seeing results of our plans and investments.”
