Epson brings out two new 44in-wide printers

Epson has announced a new range of printers that includes two new 44in machines – the SC-T7700D for the technical/AEC and POS markets and the SC-P8500D for photo production.

Everything is accessible from the front of the printers, including the user interface, retractable basket and consumables.

The printers use 2.64in PrecisionCore MicroTFP printheads with nozzle verification technology, and have automatic roll loading and optional print stacker.

Epson said there is secure communications with network authentication, data protection and device access control. Supporting Open Platform allows customers to work with ISVs to tailor their printing solutions, and central managing and tracking applications such as Epson’s Cloud Solution Port and software tools allow for central management of external threats.

The SureColor SC-T7700D uses a 6-colour Ultrachrome XD3 inkset, including a new red.

The SC-P8500D also uses the 6-colour UltraChrome Pro6 inkset with matte and photo black as well as a new grey ink for smooth gradations and reduced graininess.

Both printers will be available from September 2021.
