BPIF awards open to entries

Applications have now opened for the BPIF’s Kathy Woodward Award for Learning and the Victor Watson Trophy. The deadline for nominations is Thursday 22 June 2023. Both awards will be presented at this year’s BPIF Annual Print Reception at the House of Lords on 13 July.

The Kathy Woodward Award for Learning - launched in 2015 in memory of late BPIF CEO Kathy Woodward and sponsored by Webmart - has a prize of the £1,000. Applicants need to submit a 500-word proposal on why they believe they should win, and how they would spend the money to further their careers in the print, packaging or graphic design industries.

Now in its eighth year, the Victor Watson Trophy was launched in memory of Victor Watson CBE DL to recognise a young person of outstanding achievement. It is open to anyone under the age of 31 at the time of the presentation, who is employed in the printing industry. This includes the printing supply chain, from journalism through to all aspects of printing and allied trades such as printing, publishing, manufacturing or operating presses, driving, cleaning, advertising, photography, graphic arts, making ink and recycling paper. The nominator and nominee do not have to be associated with any particular organisation. The recipient of the trophy will be encouraged to apply for a Printing Charity bursary of £1,500.
