Fujifilm introduces Acuity Advance Select UV inkjet printer

As of today Fujifilm is showing its new Acuity Advance Select UV inkjet printer at the SGIA show in the US.

The printer has a number of features to improve production efficiencies and extend the versatility of the Acuity Advance platform. These include eight independent ink channels. In addition to the standard CMYK ink set, the Acuity Advance Select includes additional white and clear ink channels. These can be configured as clear plus white or white plus white.

The other two extra channels can be used for laying down additional cyan and magenta ink. This improves the quality that can be achieved in the higher speed Production printing mode allowing more demanding jobs to be printed up to 25% faster. The eight-channel Select also includes new print modes to further improve print speed.

As with other Acuity Advance models, the Select has an optional roll media kit, allowing an operator to prepare rigid material on the flatbed while the roll media option is printing.

The printer also has additional vacuum zones, reducing manual masking, together with new job handling capabilities for more complex jobs or those requiring multiple sets of prints.

The introduction of the Acuity Advance Select, which uses Fujifilm’s Uvijet inks, complements Fujifilm’s recently launched Acuity LED1600 roll-fed LED UV printer, with both platforms now featuring eight ink channels.
