Gandy Digital has taken the wraps off its new UV flatbed inkjet printer, the Gladi8tor.
Fespa 2015 saw the official launch of the printer, which is available in two print widths - 1.2, x 2.4m and 2m x 3m – and which is driven by an inline ‘8 Blade’ printhead configuration that means a double CMYK set-up can deliver twice the speed of Gandy’s Domin8tor and Pred8tor models.
The printer uses 6 picolitre Ricoh Gen 4 printheads. Customers can buy a four-colour system and upgrade to six- or eight-colours as required for the higher speed capability.
The Gladi8tor provides a double white ink capability and a new layered print option, and can run the new Gandy Digital Pred8tor High Adhesion UV Inks. It will accept media up to 50mm thick.
