UYR starts running new Agfa Anapurna H2500i

South-Kirby based creative, design and print business UYR has installed a six-colour 2.5m wide Agfa Anapurna H2500i LED-curable printer to run alongside its Anapurna FB2540 flatbed and Anapurna M3200 RTR machine. MD Adam Wood, said: “The wide-format side of our business is flourishing. The importance of having a timely promotional messaging at point of purchase is increasing important for our clients but lead times are usually tight and as we don’t see that changing we have to invest to ensure that our ability to service the client meets their expectations.”
UYR was founded in 1998 by Wood, who had previously worked as a promoter within the music industry. The business initially supported the entertainment industry offering a creative and design service and grew to service the hospitality market. In 2006, it moved into print (poster, vinyl and standard roll machines) and following a move to larger premises in 2010 invested in litho presses. In 2012 the company bought its first wide-format printer from Agfa. “Digital marketing has shifted perceptions in the fast moving hospitality market we serve,” said Phillip Tasker, account director at UYR, which now employs around 100 people. “Our corporate clients now want to create promotions where the physical POS may have to be in hundreds of locations the following week and the latest Agfa Anapurna H2500i engine helps us to deliver this.” UYR uses its Anapurna FB2540 for small runs and requests from its online portal to support individual outlets of major accounts and the Anapurna M3200 RTR is used for specialist larger scale jobs. The company uses Agfa Asanti production hub to streamline production.
