Canon launches Oce ColorWave 3000 series

Canon has launched the new Oce ColorWave 3000 series of large-format printers for those specialising in CAD, GIS and short-term graphic arts applications.
The CW3000 series comprises two models - the CW3500 (which replaces the CW500) and the CW3700 (which replaces the CW700), both of which can print up to 1067mm wide and support close to 40 media types up to 800μm. The printers incorporate Oce’s CrystalPoint technology that combines the best of toner and inkjet in TonerPearls, which are melted into a toner gel that crystallises onto the media for instantly dry prints. They also feature Oce Paint (Piezo Acoustic Integrated Nozzle Technology) that helps to overcome nozzle failure on the fly. The CW3500 has a media capacity of up to four rolls and users can automatically switch between media. The CW3700 has a media capacity of up to six rolls, handling up to 1200m, and can print up to 368m² posters per day in fast mode. Oce Publisher Select enables users to automatically preview print jobs. In support Print Assistant automatically suggests the right print mode for the job, detecting media requirements, so that the printer switches to the most appropriate media roll without the need for manual intervention. The Oce Folder Express 3011, Folder Professional 6011/6013 and Stacker Select provide a print-to-finish solution.
