Feldmuehle discontinues graphic papers production

Troubled Feldmuehle has stopped producing graphics papers and has shut down paper machine 2 which produced them.

The move follows the company’s application last month to open insolvency proceedings under its own administration. Today (7 December) management presented a new business concept as part of an employee meeting with simultaneous commencement of the negotiation of a social plan with the works council. The intention is for the company to focus on wet-strength label papers and flexible packaging papers as the workforce is reduced to around 180 employees.
