Hop-Syn media meets new environmental standard

Hop Industries’ Hop-Syn synthetic paper has met the 30 August 2018 revision of California Proposition 65’s strict ‘safe harbor’ standards for ‘no significant risk levels’ of toxic chemicals, heavy metals, and phthalates, allowing it to be used in a variety of applications without the need to show a California warning label. But the company has highlighted that there are implications beyond California.
“Prop 65 is an important environmental standard that now has implications beyond the state of California. Customers are requiring that their products meet all sorts of environmental standards,” said Jack Smith, senior vice president, Hop Industries. The substrate is also compliant with Coneg, RoHS, and Reach standards.
