3M performance warranty to support HP printers

In a collaborative initiative between 3M and HP, selective HP latex printers will now have the support of the 3M MCS (Matched Component System) warranty. Under the warranty, print producers certified by 3M to offer the MCS support facility will be able to guarantee the performance of graphics against failure for up to five years. This guarantee is contingent upon the use of HP/3M speciality inks, 3M media and the adoption of 3M recommended application procedures.

DYSS X7 cutter to launch in UK and Ireland

September will see the introduction of a new range of cutters in the UK and Ireland thanks to a partnership between Korean manufacturer DYSS and AG/CAD of Cheshire. The DYSS X7 is said to be a low-cost option which “coupled with very impressive ROI figures, ticks all the boxes,” according to Nick Reed, product manager at AD/CAD.

Dutch company Probo/Sign has bought a Durst Rho 1000L, the second Durst printer in a year for this fast growing company of owner Erwin Postma. The printer was delivered to Probo/Sign directly from Fespa Digital in Hamburg where the Durst Rho 1000L made its debut.

Atech to sell Gandy Digital’s Pred8tor

New Picon chairman calls for the industry to lobby banks and government

Print sector manufacturers and suppliers are being asked to lobby banks and government to support the UK print industry, and to improve skills within it. Peter Morris, new chairman of Picon (the UK association of print industry manufacturers and suppliers), said: “It’s important for everyone involved in print to keep up the pressure to improve investment, training, and above all, confidence.”
