Supporting the wide-format digital print sector
VIGC, the Flemish Innovation Center for Graphic Communication, has run the rule over a raft of popular and lesser-known PDF viewing tools. It said results show that most tools do not display a PDF/X correctly. And iPad apps for viewing PDFs put in a poor performance, making them unreliable in a design or prepress environment.
The first Onset S40 in the world has been installed at Kolorcraft in Ossett, UK. The 470m2/hr printer, which gets its first public airing at Fespa Digital where it will be on the stand of exclusive global distribution partner Fujifilm, sits between the 750m2/hr Inca Onset and the 310m2/hr Inca Onset S20.
Fujifilm is due to open an Advanced Print Technology Centre to demonstrate its entire portfolio of digital print solutions. The new centre will also host the company's new B2 sheet-fed inkjet press, the Jet Press 720.
The BPIF will streamline its senior management structure following the departure of Michael Johnson as chief executive at the end of June. The changes will mean that just two executive directors will now report to new CEO Kathy Woodward.
