Intel from the inside

It goes without saying that you can learn a thing or two from insiders in whatever area you are investigating, and in this issue we’re bringing you two pieces from companies involved in the interior décor space - one a PSP, the other not, but both wanting to highlight the enormous scope for those of you canny enough to heed their word - and experiences.

In Zeitgeist PPS MD Noel Palmer talks about making the most of the growing marketing trend in the education sector for primary school graphics, while Ben Morris and Andrew Stuart of Wrapt - a new specialist self-adhesive vinyl installation company - discusses the opportunities to ‘refresh’ interiors in public/commercial spaces.

Delving into new markets/applications is not for everyone of course - there’s plenty to be said for developing ‘add-on’ services for existing customer-bases on the back of what you know best - but taking a leap into the unknown can and does bring rewards. Look at Oasis Graphic. In 2016 it took the decision to dedicate a member of staff and a budget to applications development on unusual substrates. A year and a bit down the line and it is getting real jobs through the door and demonstrating its unusual abilities to a wider creative audience than ever before.

That flexibility of attitude as well as resources is key to reinvigorating business is highlighted too in Talking Point, where Mark Thompson, co-founder of PrintDesigns, flags up the need to be more open to the integration of digital technologies with print.

If you’re willing to share your own insider information with other PSPs get in touch.
