Corby-based Ultima Displays is expanding by employing new staff and increasing its office space and warehouse facilities.
The company, which specialises in manufacturing and sourcing portable display systems but also provides a graphics printing service, took on 21 members of staff last year and is set to employ at least a further nine this year.
Andrew Burdett, managing director for UK and Europe, said: “We offer a complete solution service which includes hardware products plus a supplementary graphics and textile printing service for our trade partners should they run out of time or if they don’t have the printing capabilities themselves. We are delighted to be in the fortunate position of employing new staff rather than having to reduce head count. We recruited 21 new members of staff last year to help meet the demands of the increasing work load and we aim to continue our expansion throughout 2012.”
Ultima, which started out in a small unit in Kettering in 1999 with a handful of staff, now employs more than 130 people in the UK. The company also recently extended its warehouse facilities.
New to the group is Sign Pro Systems. It is led by Andy Elliott, who said: “Sign Pro Systems provides leading edge sign and display solutions to our signage customers. We supply a vast range of solutions that are cost-effective, and good quality and can be delivered fast to help meet our clients’ customers’ needs, values and demands.”
With an aggressive expansion plan, Ultima Displays is developing its presence in Europe and now has companies in France, Poland, Italy and Germany and further distribution hubs throughout Europe, together with sister companies in the USA and Canada.
The Ultima Customer Open Day, taking place on 4 July is now fully booked and registration has had to be closed.
Marketing manager Sarah Blackwell said: ‘We’re really excited about this Customer Open Day as it is the first we have done in almost five years.”
Visitors will get to see demonstrations on some of Ultima’s new products and a tour of the newly refurbished offices and warehouse.
