New from Roland is the VersaCamm VS-i wide-format print-and-cut series that comprises the 64in VS-640i, the 54in VS-540i, and the 30in VS-300i. The machines, which have print speeds of up to 26.9m2/hr in high production print modes and offer integrated contour cutting, use Eco-Sol Max2 inks available in nine colours (CMYKLcLm, White, Metallic Silver and Light Black). Other notable enhancements include front-loading ink cartridges, and the ability to adjust cut settings during operation.
Roland said the new printers have approximately one and a half times faster production speeds for white ink and up to two times the speed for metallic ink compared to the previous model.
Included is the latest version of Roland VersaWorks, which features built-in Pantone spot colour libraries and a predictive ink calculator, which estimates the amount of ink needed and printing time for each job. And Roland OnSupport enables unattended printing by sending text or email messages to a smart phone or remote computer when a print job is completed or ink is running low.
