CMYUK moves to tailor-made premises

Distributor CMYUK has officially opened its new showroom and demonstration suite in Shrewsbury following a £1.3m investment in the new building and the printing/finishing kit it houses. Councillor Beverley Baker, Mayor of Shrewsbury, was at the opening, which follows nine months of planning and preparation for the move that director Jon Price called “a strategic necessity”.

“At Fespa 2014 we saw the EFI H1625 LED printer and thought it was a game-changer,” said Price at the opening. “But we knew the type of people who would buy it wouldn’t want to spend two-days going to the EFI showroom in Brussels to see it, so we needed proper showroom space in the UK.”

The Shrewsbury site houses a range of EFI and Mimaki wide-format printers and Zund cutting systems, and provides training facilities, while CMYUK’s southern office continues to provide sales, service and technical expertise.

Director Robin East, added: “We want high-end customers to be able to see high-end kit at a UK facility – and that’s what we’re providing here.”
