Jetrix printers key to upcoming art exhibition

From 23 September to 4 October the Mead Carney Gallery in Dover Street, London, will be showing works by American artist Jeffrey Kroll that wed mobile photography and painting with images printed onto canvas via large-format Jetrix inkjet printers.

The show, called ‘Strata’, is co-sponsored by Jetrix, who’s technology has been crucial to the project. Through a technique that Kroll has developed himself, he first creates a painting and takes a digital image via a mobile phone camera, then prints that onto canvas via the Jetrix before adding abstract imagery in oil onto the surface.

“Using digital technology for high art is a new and exciting concept,” said Kroll, who has been experimenting with mobile photography and digital printing as part of mixed media artworks for some months.
