HP adds to Latex offering

HP has added to the tranche of new printers it announced in April by bringing out the 3.2m wide HP Latex 3500 and 3100 at Fespa 2015, as well as HP Scitex 17000 Corrugated Press. The first 3500 has gone to PressOn, which signed for the printer at Fespa 2015 having beta-tested the printer since last winter and having recently moved from Rochester to a bigger site in Chatham following recent investment in various large-format machines.

The 3500 and 3100 have the same specifications, but the latter uses smaller ink cartridges and handles lighter rolls. The 3500 can take up to 300kg and has 10l ink cartridges, the 3100 handles rolls up to 160kg and has 5l ink cartridges.

The 3500 and 3100 have seven print cartridges (black, cyan, light cyan, light magenta, magenta, yellow, HP Latex Optimizer) and offers resolutions up to 1200 x 1200dpi. The 3500 can run at 180m2/hr in two-pass billboard mode.

Both printers are compatible with the HP Latex Mobile application and a new Printer Status Beacon helps operators stay up-to-date on job statuses and unexpected downtime from anywhere on the production floor. They are also JDF-enabled. They will start shipping in August, as will the

HP Scitex 17000 Corrugated Press.
