Wrights Plastics acquires Mid West Displays

Retail display and signage specialist Wrights Plastics has acquired Mid West Displays. “We have a complementary range of products and services, and both companies have a reputation for innovation that we wish to develop further. Additionally, we can use our combined buying strength to lower costs and pass these savings on to customers’ news and old,” said Wrights Plastics MD Mike Wright.

Established in 1969, family owned Wrights Plastics has a £10m turnover and employs around 100 staff at its West Bromwich base. Its GPX brand supplies retail display and POS products.

Mid West Displays was formed in 2004 and is a supplier and installer of window and interior display products for the retail, property and exhibition sectors. It also fabricates bespoke and off-the-shelf acrylic products. Around 40 people are employed at its Shrewsbury site.

The takeover of Mid West Displays is the latest in Wrights Plastics’ history of expansion through acquisition. In 1998 it bought POS manufacturer Acrylics Plus, and in 2010 Hertfordshire-based GPX Group.
