Kornit Digital launches event to inspire the textile printing and design communities

Kornit has bagged Caroline Okun, director of Sprout Patterns at Spoonflower, to speak at its Digital Innovation Event in Düsseldorf, Germany on 9 September.

Oliver Luedtke, Kornit marketing director, said: “Digital production technologies have arrived in the textile markets. We know from our customers that those technologies enable new and U - Caroline Okunexciting business models, and we would like to demonstrate these opportunities to everybody who is either active or interested in the field of digitally produced textiles.”

To that end Kornit is hoping to attract a wide range of people involved in textiles to the event where Okun will deliver the keynote. Also on the agenda are presentations and workshops with Caldera, Zund and Assyst, an expert in 3D visualisation.

Okun - whose presentation is titled ‘Fiber Revolution: The Pathway to Mass Customisation’ - will talk about her company’s new service that offers public indie sewing patterns that can be combined with Spoonflower designs to create customised cut and sew projects. (Spoonflower is an online marketplace used by more than 3.5m individuals who use their own designs to make curtains, quilts, clothes, bags, furniture, dolls, framed artwork, banners etc. It has recently opened a European production facility in Berlin and relies on Kornit Digital’s technology as the backbone of the company’s printed fabric production.)

Register with Kornit to attend the event.
