The objective is to make high end digital design and making accessible to anyone who wants to make their ideas a reality, and is open to students, SMEs and members of the public. It’s technology includes 3D printing, 3D scanning, laser cutting and now wide-format digital printing equipment.

Phil Chaplain, chief technological officer at Robert Gordon University, said: “Make Aberdeen offers us an opportunity to collaborate with private individuals, north-east businesses and organisations that have a great idea or small business they want to develop.”

The Jetrix KX3 was chosen to suit the environment and size of the space available in the city centre venue. It’s simple to use interface was an added benefit, as was its two/three layer printing and the ability to add a spot UV varnish, plus the possibility of printing onto various media/surfaces.
